History awaits...

Our Byway is rural, beautiful and screne. It is a mixture of national forest lands, small communities, farms, ranches and private homes and businesses.

Our Byway is rural, beautiful and screne. It is a mixture of national forest lands, small communities, farms, ranches and private homes and businesses.

There are also places to stay. We offer a variety of motels, cabins, lodges and B& Bs. Also restaurants, cafes offering food and drink are here as well. We have several small grocery stores with gas available.

Most of these businesses have phones and web sites which we list for you by community, as well as Forest service offices and Gila Cliff Dwelling Visitor Center that can provide conditions and general information. Please remember that most of the businesses keep “county hours”. Out in the forest area, gas is available at only two places: Mimbres Store and Doc Campbell’s Post, both are closed late afternoon.

We have grouped the business facilities of most interest to our travelers by areas/communities. For all other information, see the Silver City-Grant County Chamber of Commerce or Yellow Pages.
